Bake Ham with Brown Sugar Mustard Glaze

There is nothing prettier than a baked ham studded with cloves and covered in a sweet glaze.  At the Village Butcher Shoppe, we brine our own hams with our special spice mixture then slowly smoke overnight in our in-house smoker.


Ingredients

Cooking Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Score top of ham into diamonds and stud center of each diamond with a clove.
  3. Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan and bake for 15 minutes per pound.  DO NOT over heat the ham to the point that it is HOT inside.  Hams are fully cooked today when you buy them!!
  4. In a bowl combine the sugar, mustard and vinegar and spread glaze evenly over ham. Bake for another 25-35 minutes.
  5. Transfer ham to a platter and let stand 15 minutes before carving.
  6. Serve with Fresh Vegetables, Potato’s and a Salad.  Enjoy!

1 Village Butcher Homemade Baked Ham.  At the Village Butcher Shoppe, we recommend 3/4 lb per person.  More if you want leftovers.


Whole Cloves for studding the ham.

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar.

¼ cup of your favorite mustard.

2 tablespoons of cider vinegar.
